About this event
D and B, the man and the woman, are disillusioned, decadent, lost and scared, at that point in their life when everything at once is out of focus, when the voice of V finds them and invites them to go on a journey down the hole. HOLES is a performance based on a piece of new writing by Gabriella Svenningsen. The play is following Dante’s journey to Limbo, Inferno and Purgatory, through suburban confusion, from forests to kitchens, through cities and memories, from waiting rooms to aeroplanes, through the rabbit hole and back to square one.
This multi-sensory journey explores fundamental concerns of urban living including alienation, fear, insecurity, miscommunication and distrust. We have created a world of images to visualise this everlasting monologue of one’s existential questioning. We think that this moment of thought might be universal. We wish to speak about it, present it as a world in itself, unfold its secrets and invite you to the journey.
The project Holes has been opened to 20 artists, coming from a broad range of art forms. Each of them found a personal point of reference within this project and the final performance has grown organically from the blending of all those inputs and ideas.
