About this event
Lear, once a powerful ruler, intends to divide his kingdom between
his three daughters, Goneril, Regan and Cordelia, in exchange for
their words of love. It is as a result of this 'love test' that the
true colours of Goneril and Regan are revealed which, along with
Cordelia's silence, quickly send Lear into a spiralling cascade of
rage and madness, through which the very kingdom he sought to protect
may ultimately be destroyed.
Arguably Shakespeare's greatest tragedy, King Lear is a stunning
portrayal of deceit, senility and love.
In 2 B Theatre's production of King Lear, the setting is more
contemporary, yet it, and the language, remains instantly familiar.
The company creates a world that is both accessible and enjoyable,
remaining ever true to Shakespeare's wonderful play.
Tuesday 24- Saturday 28 February
Evenings: Tue-Sat 7.15pm
Matinees: Wed 25/Fri 27
Tickets: £9 (£7 over 60s/under 16s)
