Following their enormous sell out success at the Theatre Royal Bath's Egg, New Old Friends come to London with their outrageous and beautiful comedy about the price of friendship. With lacerating wit, moments of poignancy and some good old-fashioned mime humping, Mate explores what happens when two flatmates attempt to oust an unwanted guest, in a play reminiscent of Tom Stoppard, only quite a lot dirtier.

New Old Friends formed after meeting at Bretton Hall, the comedy hotbed that produced John Godber, Mark Thomas, and three quarters of The League of Gentlemen. They have swiftly gained a reputation as one of the hottest young comedy teams in the South West, working in association with TRB and other local venues. Borne of their belief that theatre can be a viable alternative to the cinema or pub as an evening's entertainment for young professionals, the company's mission is simple: to make the kind of shows that they want to watch.

'Full of witty one-liners you'll be using for weeks'- Bath Life
'Breaks the barriers into uncompromising adult comedy' -Bristol Evening Post
