"You can take a closet-case to forbidden fruit, but you can't make him eat…"
Following the success of Steam and Counterfeit Skin, London's Courtyard Theatre is pleased to present the premiere of Jason Charles's new play ESTRANGED.
Sam is due to marry Sylvia in three days time. Behind his overbearing mother's back he has traced Lydia and Justin, his disowned aunt and cousin, and invited them to stay until the wedding. Is this just for his mother to make peace with her provocative sister before the big day? Or does Sam want his cousin to take him back into the forbidden world they entered in their teens?
And precious Sylvia and best man Martin have a shady past all of their own…
Complete with scheming mothers and long lost lovers, Estranged is a brand new play about sexuality and conformity, family and desire. The conflict between what we want and what we do. The life we have and the life we crave.
It will be performed at the Courtyard Theatre in Shoreditch, London, between the 7th April and 3rd May 2009. Directed by Chris George (director of the West End production of Grumpy Old Women).
Starts 7:45pm. Tues to Sun.
Tickets from £10. Available from www.seetickets.com 0870 163 0717
