Following the arrival of their first child, ex tennis umpire Nils Pedersen and his mildly autistic wife, former British no. 1 Benedicte Legrand, begrudgingly call upon Nils' haughty and condemning sister, Elsa, to come and help with the baby, but with the adversity that inevitably ensues between them, plus intervention from such irrepressible characters as Benedicte's brother, Julian, and family friends like quintessential upper-class twit, Ben, and the aging American hippy, Ronnie, things quickly spiral out of control as this band of misfits unwittingly find themselves entering The Eurovision Song Contest in distinctly unglamorous fashion.
