INFORMATION
They say September marks the end of the summer and the end of the fun. WRONG!! On September 12th 2009, Discover Records, MPFS & Prehab team up to bring you one of the hottest nights you'll find all year.
Think you've seen the best line up & been to the best nights this year? This night will rank alongside all of them and our line up is massive.
Headlining Room 1 is John Askew. This man needs no introduction. He has played for the biggest clubs all over the world, he has released some of the best music we've come to know and love over the past 10 years and has nurtured some of the worlds best DJs such as Sean Tyas, John O'Callaghan, Bryan Kearney and Tom Colontonio to help them get to where they are today.
John is the head A&R for Discover Records which consistently releases trance anthems that are known by clubbers all over the world. John has also played for every big club night worldwide including The Gallery, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Slinky and many many more. He has also found time to produce two outstanding albums (he is currently working on his third) and he has had singles & remixes released by almost every big label in the world including Vandit, Discover, Armada and Monster Tunes. He has also produced a 2 hour mix for Radio 1's Legendary Essential Mix.
Alongside John in Room 1, we present one of the hardest working producers on the planet. Rob Stevenson (aka Activa) has shot to fame in the last 5 years. His productions are played by pretty much every trance DJ in the world and his success has culminated in Paul Van Dyk asking him to remix his classic anthem 'For An Angel'.
This summary by John Askew best says it all: "Rob's productions as Activa and Mekk are just incredible. Certainly in a league of their own, they stand out a mile from a sea of tunes that all sound the same. Is it a surprise labels like Discover, Spinnin and Vandit are gagging to sign as much of his stuff as possible? No, it's no surprise at all."
Having got into music & production at an extremely young age, Ben Gold has spent time perfecting his sound and has recently had a string of huge releases on Recoverworld including 'Say the Words' which featured the vocals of Senadee. This track was made 'Tune of the Week' on Armin Van Buuren's 'A State of Trance' radio show. A follow up single is due for release very soon on Matt Hadwick's 'Kill The Lights' imprint. Ben has recently started work on some other projects which will be released later in 2009.
Sly One & Jurrane are two DJs / Producers who have been on the scene for quite a while however they really began to get noticed when they signed to Discover Records. Their first track, 'Time Bomb' was remixed by Tom Colontonio and went on to become one of the biggest tracks of 2007. They have also worked on numerous remixes for uplifting trance label Perceptive.
David Murtagh founded Prehab. He has been a major part in turning the night from a monthly event in the Southside Bar to hosting room 2 at the Gallery and bringing huge producers such as Olivier Giacomotto over to the UK. David has also produced two huge bootlegs which were played by a whole host of names such as Marco V, Gareth Emery, The Viceroy, Bryan Kearney, Fabio Stein, Solarstone, DJ Choose, Graham Gold, Kuffdam, Michael Splint, Ernesto & Bastien, Darren Tate & Dale Corderoy. David has also released his own original productions which have been played by the likes of Tiesto, Judge Jules & Carl Cox.
Opening Room 1 is Matt Kirkland who's first production 'Mass Consumption' (produced alongside Darren Williams under the guise 'Dark Territory') was signed by Jon O'Bir to his Conspiracy label. The track was remixed by Activa and was played in clubs all over the country such as Gatecrasher, Godskitchen and Turnmills. Matt has also played for the legendary Passion night at the Emporium and has been involved in working for and DJing at a number of smaller nights in the midlands.
Closing Room 1 is Tom Yelland. Tom's first experience DJing came when he won the MPFS annual DJ Competition for the first time in 2004. He was then invited to play at Prehab and since then has played for nights at Heaven and more recently Ministry of Sound. Tom also has a little experience at producing having reworked Pryda's - Pjanoo for his own sets.
Room 2 is hosted by Prehab. Having started off with monthly events in the Southside Bar near Warren Street, Prehab was consistently one of the best small nights in the capital which got them noticed by The Gallery. They booked Prehab to host room 2 on regular occasions during their weekly Friday night events. Prehab was then able to giving a number of DJs their first taste of DJing as well as bringing some huge names over to the UK.
Prehab have recently started up their own label which has been releasing some of the best music round today.
Room 3 is hosted by Cerebral.
